HOME BUYER SCAM

-- An attempted home buyer scam has been reported
by several homeowners listing homes.
Variations of this scheme have been reported.
Most involve a buyer from the UK ( England ). Be alert to any home buyer requiring the home seller to send payment to
a third party from excess proceeds received in a CASHIERS CHECK.
The basic scam
involves the home buyer ( SCAMMER ) sending the home seller a CASHIERS
CHECK for more than the asking price of the home for sale.
The SCAMMER wants
the home seller to send a payment to a third party from the EXCESS
PROCEEDS of the CASHIERS CHECK.
The scam comes in when
the CASHIERS CHECK is found to be a " FORGERY ".
The SCAMMER hopes
you send your check or money before his BAD CHECK is found out.
Please be alert to
any variation of this scam.
